Frimpong in Manchester United wanted list

November 12, 2021

Jeremie Frimpong to Manchester United

Jeremie Frimpong, 21, RB, has been on Man United’s radar for some time now. The Dutch right back currently plays for German club Bayer Leverkusen. This is a transfer United fans should get excited about, and one that looks very likely.

The Dutch international is rated by Erik ten Hag and United scouts alike as a top talent, and certainly an ideal right back to join Diogo Dalot in the ranks. Everything indicates this particular transfer is going to materialize, unless John Murtough doesn’t over-complicate the deal by entangling AWB deal with Frimpong’s.

The young right back has been included in Netherlands squad for world cup 2022 in Qatar. Previously Frimpong played for Manchester City youth team. He joined Leverkusen from Celtic in 2021 for €11M. At the German club Frimpong is thriving, and making a name for himself.

As reported by the Telegraph, United are very much in the chase to secure Frimpong’s signature. Player and club both camps are aware of United interest.

Frimpong joining Manchester United is likely.

A bit early to be totally sure, however, Frimpong is quite likely:

1) Aaron Wan-Bissaka is clearly not in Erik ten Hag’s list of players he wants to keep. Crystal Palace reportedly want AWB back. United would like to offload the ex-Palace right back as soon as January. This is a certain development in the rebuilding process.

2) United need a right back and fast. Dalot is the primary right back at the moment. The Portugese is the only outfield player to start every much for Man United this season. Relying on one quality right back is not sustainable.

Jeremie Frimpong in the Bundesliga this season:

☑️14 games
☑️5 goals
☑️2 assists
☑️1 key pass per 90
☑️3 big chances created
☑️2.6 successful dribbles per 90
☑️60% dribble success
☑️2.1 tackles per 90
☑️57% of all duels won

3) United also need to make sure the new right is as good as Dalot, if not better. There needs to be completion for every single position. Frimpong certainly satisfies the requirements with regards to potential and quality.

4) Dutch, EtH compatriot, and 22 years old. United hierarchy and Erik ten Hag would welcome Frimpong as well as the fans.

5) Currently Jeremie Frimpong transfer fee is in the range of 30-40 million euros. Good value for Manchester United. Frimpong is a rising star. He has performed very well this season in the Bundesliga.

Also, a decent bloke.

The cost to be a decent person is $0.00.

Is January transfer from Leverkusen likely?

Manchester United should definitely sign Jeremie Frimpong. The opportunity to play for United under Ten Hag is a rare one.

Frimpong must be relishing his big move. His arrival should not depend on the departure of Aaron Wan-Bissaka. These should be separate deals. The club seems to have complicated the transfer. However, it appears United want to offload AWB first. This kind of financial demands by the Glazers have been affecting squad rebuild and performance for years now. This is yet another reason Manchester United fans will free the club from Glazer family.

Will Man United be proactive and secure Frimpong in January? Fingers crossed. Club seems reluctant to spend before the summer. But when a transfer seems perfect in all aspect, it’s foolish not to act sooner than later.

While we are all preparing for the world cup in our ways (remember these?), Frimpong will look to make vital contributions for his nation. Then, in January, the deal should go through anyway. Transfer fee might rise or fall, but not expected to change drastically.

Until next time. Let’s keep our voice heard against the Glazers! #Glazersout!
