The first half ended 0-0. Underwhelming for United, although it’s the better team. Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro had some very good chances to no success. Some good saves from Fulham keeper Leno.
Second half started with higher intensity from both Fulham and United.
At the hour mark, Zirkzee was called up by Erik ten Hag, as well as Alejandro Garnacho.
After 70 minutes the game became more dangerous as both teams started taking high risks with frequent possession losses from both United and Fulham.
The subs proved to be vital. Zirkzee scored the winner in dying minutes, assisted by Garnacho.
Unlike the previous season, Manchester United managed to keep out Fulham for the remainder of the game. A very important win for the new United for the new season.
Onto the next game! 👹
