United have lost last seven away games in the league, our longest away losing run in the league since December 1936.
Southampton are without a win in their last 12 Premier League games against Man Utd (D7 L5). The Saints have also conceded more EPL goals against United than any other opponent in the competition, with 98 goals conceded.

Southampton vs MUFC: Team News
Erik ten Hag confirmed that Anthony Martial would be out the match due to injury. This comes as somewhat a mystery – Martial looked fit against Liverpool and he has only recovered from another injury after preseason tour.
United’s new midfield signing Casemiro was available to face Southampton
A hard fought win for the Red Devils.
Erik ten Hag deployed an unchanged starting XI from their 2-1 win against Liverpool.
United were solid defensively throughout the game. Huge difference from last season at central defence. First half was unimpressive overall, nothing much going forward.
Surprisingly ten Hag did no make any change during the break. Southampton showed resiliency but we’re not threatening United either.
Manchester United finally got their breakthrough from a brilliant build up play involving Elanga, Rashford one touch passing to find Diogo Dalot with space on the wing. Dalot delivered a powerful cross to find Fernandes who also without taking any extra touch scored with a beautiful placement volley.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Casemiro both were brought on. United sat back and defended their lead with grit.
It wasn’t the prettiest match. EtH and team worked hard and got 3 points, objective completed.
There are room for improvements and definitely room for more reinforcements. With transfer window deadline day imminent, United board have to do their job and get the players EtH needs. Anyway, Glazers have to go.
Next game, Manchester United will play against Leicester City away on Thursday September 1, 3 PM EDT.
Big up the travelling fans 👏💯
