Leeds “welcome” Lancaster reds at Ellan Road in matchday 25 fixture of the EPL 2021-2022 campaign.

🚨 The #LEEMUN team news has landed, Reds! 🔴#MUFC

Jesse Lingard gets his first start for United in the league since 2020. Raphael Varane misses out, probably due to upcoming UCL clash against Athletico Madrid. Aaron Wan-Bissaka retains starting role, replacing Diogo Dalot at RB.

An old rivalry rekindled. Manchester United need 3 points. Top 4 already seem out of reach and dropped points will make it very very tough to attain.

Leeds United vs Man United: As it happened

The match started amid atrocious weather conditions. Heavy rain and wind disrupted play significantly. Add foul play which is a common attribute of this particular fixture.

Harry Maguire finally got the breakthrough for United. Can’t believe it, we scored from a corner. After 140+ attempts. That’s just embarrassing but – great to see a set piece goal after a long time.

United took advantage of Leeds again and doubled their lead – thanks to a beautiful forward run from Lindelöf. Sancho with a cool first time lib that found ever sprinting Bruno Fernandes.

It was a battle amid treacherous weather. The second half saw Leeds level the score with a couple of goals. The first one is a pure freak – Leeds LB’s cross caught everyone by surprise. The second one came from a low Daniel James cross. Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire both could prevent conceding.

United rose to the challenge and finally retook the lead, thanks to Fred’s near post fiery shot from Jadon Sancho assist. United buried the game after magical Bruno Fernandes assist for teenager Anthony Elanga.

Final score Leeds 2 United 4. Fully deserved. Leeds on the other hand seemed to have inspiration but poor tactics to really aid inspiration.

What matters is United secured 3 points.
