Manchester United snatched a very very very late winner against West Ham United at Old Trafford. The 1-0 victory sends United to the top 4 for the first time since October.
Ralf Rangnick made one change to the lineup that had secured 3-1 victory against Brentford a few days earlier. Harry Maguire started as a replacement of Victor Lindelöf – who decided to spend time with family after burglary at Lindelöf household in Manchester.

Man United showed better composure and control of the game in first half. However, failed to create good chances. No shot on target as first half ended all square.
West Ham, led by David Moyes (my worst nightmare) looked determined to cause upset at Old Trafford. Bright in the first half.
Fred Rodriguez missed a glorious chance during the opening 15 mins of the second half, unleashing a close range shot straight to the opposition goalkeeper.
The battle got more intense as United found themselves running out of time to get the all important goal – a victory would result United to leap 3 places up in the table to 4th position. The hammers on the other hand, would be very happy to salvage a point and stay 4th.
MUFC boss Ralf Rangnick proceeded to take the big risk. brought Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial on the pitch to replace Fred and Mason Greenwood. 80th minute onwards United attack comprised of Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.
It did seem like a goal was coming throughout the second half but it never materialized – not until the very last minute of 3 minutes of stoppage time.
Alex Telles recovered possession in the dying seconds and lofted the ball to Ronaldo who recieved it beautifully under pressure and slid it towards Martial – who along with Cavani was rushing towards Stretford End. Martial played Cavani, which looked offside but actually wasn’t (as confirmed by VAR later), and Cavani delivered a perfectly weighted low cross to the far post – and Rashford, right place and tight time – tapped the ball to the back of the net.
And Old Trafford went absolutely crazy! The noise! Probably the loudest from OT crowd I’ve ever heard.

A huge win for us. Let’s hope it continues. United’s upcoming EPL fixtures are comparatively easy, but you never know. The team has been struggling a lot lately but the past two games we’ve seen improvements.
Defensively it was one of the best performances of the season. No doubt. I’ve been very critical of Harry Maguire lately. Today he was brilliant. Aggressive and faster Hope it continues.

Overall, a good performance. This team is capable of much better. The players will be rejuvenated by this result. Hard work, togetherness are always critical factors and ultimately sets a good season apart from a bad one.
