Cristiano addresses the elephant in the room, talks Man United for 20+ mins in a revealing interview.
“I remember when I was 18, 19, 20, some old players speak with me and I put that as, ‘Cristiano, you know you have to improve. They know more than you, they are more experienced than you.” [premier league productions]
Apprantly we have players who think they’re too good to take advice. Well, if you cannot take advice from Cristiano then for sure no other people.
The plan English version is this: Spoilt players. They’re no good to wear the United shirt and badge. So who belongs to this group of players, who really don’t have United in their interest, these lazy contract wagers?
I think to build up good things, sometimes you have to destroy a few things.
Here are a few ideas in reaction to that damning quote:
Anthony Martial is done at United. No. 1 in the list. Juan Mata although will be missed I think has stayed far too long at the club. Jesse Lingard and Paul Pogba should leave as well. We’ve seen enough. The club needs serious players. We need to kick out showboating. They’re thinking where can I get a better contract.
Disillusioned: Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw. These players need to improve body language and really work hard.
No problem: Cristiano, Varane, De Gea, McTominay, Sancho, Bruno Fernandes, Edinson Cavani.
The rest definitely needs to become better players. Enough said. And the important message I think Cristiano delivered is this:
Manchester “United” means being United in difficult times.
